Sari Dangler, MS, LPC-S, LSSP has been completing hundreds of Psychological Assessments since 2009 first in Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center, then in the area school districts, and now in her own office to assist with correct diagnosis and treatment focus thereafter. Oftentimes, it makes it easier to know how to handle the difficulties you face when you truly understand the underlying issues. Correct diagnosis also helps with counseling services as well as medical management.
She completes the Diagnostic Psychological Assessment for as young as 2 years to adults in a multitude or areas including Autism, ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Learning Disorders, Personality Disorders, etc. They are meant to assist with diagnosis, recommendations to address the conditions in question, look at individual strengths, make recommendations for home, school, work, and/ or college settings, and fulfill the evaluation requirements for ABA therapy.
Typically the evaluations with her consist of the consultation meeting during which the process of the evaluation is discussed, areas of evaluation focus is decided, in-person testing is scheduled. Often other components that are needed are parent and/ or client interview, collecting information from other sources (e.g. teachers, therapists, etc.), as well as me scoring of the forms, interpreting the information, and writing the report. After all components are completed, a feedback meeting will take place to go over the evaluation results.
You will receive a comprehensive evaluation report including the diagnosis and appropriate recommendations when the evaluation is completed that you can share with your doctor, psychiatrists, pediatrician, school, college, work, etc. Currently, these evaluations are completed from the initial consultation to the feedback session in about 3 to 4 weeks depending on the depth and length of the evaluation.
